ProfilControl 7 RubberFleX is designed to cope with the highly exacting quality requirements of the automotive industry. It handles the quality control of elastic, variable and filigree rubber profiles of simple to high complexity with ease. The new, modular design of the sensor head dispenses with a complete housing and a hinged cover. The open sensor plate with a predefined hole pattern makes it possible to flexibly position the optical sensors and freely configure it with up to 8 highly specialized cameras. Thus, all areas of the profiles that will later be visible can be continuously and completely captured during the inspection process.
A high-performer for impeccable surfaces and perfect dimensional accuracy
While up to 700 high-performance LEDs produce a homogeneous illumination field with maximal light yield, the ProfilControl software reliably filters out any interfering external light effects. ProfilControl 7 RubberFleX checks the contour, distances, angles, radii, heights, widths and clamping dimensions, and detects even the smallest specks, holes, scratches, bubbles, cracks, color deviations, etc. In addition, the PiXARGUS-developed MultiArea functionality, which uses virtual cameras, makes it possible to inspect various areas of view in parallel. The system recognizes defects and defect sources in the production process at a very early stage, minimizing the risk of out-of-spec production. The clear aim is to achieve impeccable surfaces and perfect dimensional accuracy.
Quality assurance in the smartest way
The system’s intelligent software is key in making ProfilControl 7 XLine a high-performer. It forms the basis for the intuitive operation of the system and the performance of time-saving automated inspection processes. Focused analysis functions enhance the effectiveness of defect tracking. Also on board: Various new smart assistance functions, such as a function that supports the operator in setting up the inspection processes for products with varying surfaces. The system, for example, now proposes the optimal roughness value, eliminating the manual effort for the operator.

Thanks to the new modular design of the sensor head, ProfilControl 7 RubberFleX can now provide customized setups for a wide range of EPDM products and applications. The smart inline inspection system is freely configurable with 1 to 8 cameras, as needed, and can be exactly tailored to the inspection tasks and quality requirements of the application. This makes ProfilControl 7 RubberFleX the solution of choice not only for classical sealing profiles used in the automotive industry, but it now also provides a cost-efficient solution for the inspection of technological rubber profiles for air conditioners, refrigerators, windows, and numerous other applications.

ProfilControl 7 RubberFleX is available as a turnkey system for standard applications in rubber profile extrusion and designed to be flexibly extended. Depending on what the customer wishes, the inline system is laid out to perform dimension measurement or surface inspection – or both functions combined, as an All-in-One solution for complete all-round inspection. The standard equipment includes an external 21.5” multi-touch monitor, a mobile support frame, and the encoder. The system is also available on request for numerous special applications, such as smart hole and flocking inspection, variable extrusion, and defect density management (DDM).
