With its DualVision technology, PIXARGUS, a long-established manufacturer of inline solutions for surface inspection and profile measurement, offers a new, turnkey system capable of simultaneously detecting both surface flaws and deviations in the profile geometry. For the first time, the two control modules are integrated within one sensor head and switchable separately or in parallel. Results of surface and profile measurements (width, height, angles, radii, etc.) are available in real time, providing maximum inspection accuracy. The system projects a straight, extremely sharp laser light line onto the product, the entire circumference of which is continuously inspected by up to eight high-capacity cameras. With this solution it is now possible to also capture those areas of the profile which previous systems were unable to measure with sufficient accuracy. PIXARGUS achieves a measuring tolerance better than +/-10 µm, which for specific applications may be even further improved. The system is able to detect - in parallel - surface defects such as specks, pores, scratches, blisters, fissures or grooves during running production.
